Hello & Welcome to My Blog!

It is good to have you here and now that you have clicked on this link, I am thrilled to see you want to know more about me. So, here we go!

I am Dr Vicky Kamwa and I am a passionate medical doctor working in the United Kingdom with both clinical and academic commitments. I am also involved in caritative work with "Cameroonian Doctors in the UK" (CamDocUK) promoting good health in Cameroon and abroad as well as "Les Enfants Moniques - Les fous de coeur" (LEM-LFC) looking after pregnant women and children in need. I was born and raised in Cameroon (flag:🇨🇲), a country in central Africa (yes! it is central, not west and yes! Africa is NOT a country, it's a continent 😉).

I graduated from "Université des Montagnes", a private university offering medical, pharmaceutical, veterinary and informatics program degrees. A lot of good and bad memories but an enriching experience altogether which undoubtedly contributed in shaping the person I am today. I like to see myself as an ever-changing, ever-improving kind of person. I can easily get bored and am always excited at trying new ideas, taking on new projects.

I have never blogged before and truth be told, I finally started following consistent encouragements from friends, but one in particular I will call C. who just genuinely thought I could be good at this! (Well, thanks for the pressure, my dear! We are now public and have no choice but to deliver, :D). This nicely brings us to why I allowed myself to be influenced in that way and really, why I am now blogging. I have always been seen amongst my friends and family as the go-to when it comes to advising on healthcare but also on life in general; far from being emotionally-driven when making life-changing decisions. My aim is to create here an educational, fun and safe platform for you to interact with me & fellow followers.

I am fluent in French and English - both writing and speaking, so it is with no surprise I will be delighted to be offering content, supporting my community and bringing my medical expertise here in both languages whenever it will be needed.

What we will be discussing about

In the upcoming posts, expect to find educational content and vibrant podcasts on various topics to help you settle in life. Together, we will try (because we can only do so) to settle in our health, in our careers, in any country in the world we fancy and in any other area that will be important for you. For the latter, you just have to let me know and I will try (remember what I said earlier about trying?) my very best to sort it out for you.

I am here to listen, to help and to serve you. See me as the "aunty" you go to when your mum is done pulling your ears for something you didn't feel understood lol.
